Super Eagles winger, Samuel Kalu is doubtful for Nigeria’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho after sustaining an injury in Bordeaux’s 3-1 win over Dijon in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Kalu, who was named in the 24-man squad by Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr last week Tuesday, was replaced by Nicolas de Previll after just 16 minutes into the encounter.

With no official statement yet from his club as par the extent of his injury, there are growing fears in the national team camp that he could miss the Benin and Lesotho’s game.

However, with standby strikers such as Galatasary forward, Henry Onyekuru, and Lorient’s Terem Moffi, the German tactician may be left with no choice but to invite one of the strikers.

Recall that the three-time AFCON champions will face the Squirrels of Benin on March 27 in Porto-Novo before hosting the Crocodile of Lesotho on March 30 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
