An officer of the Nigerian Navy named Orukevwe Eritomi Augustine brutally beat a 64-year-old grandmother over a land dispute in Delta State with clubs and cables.
On Tuesday, Augustine, a naval rating, reportedly assaulted Mrs. Odafe Utobore’s home with two of his colleagues and a few of his relatives in tow, demanding she leave the property immediately and claiming the ground on which it was built belonged to his father.
The grandma was apparently attacked by the three naval officers and four other people, who beat her unconscious with clubs, electric cables, and other weapons.
Arigo Jackson, Florence Utobore, and Evelyn Utobore are among the other individuals who allegedly suffered abuse at the hands of the navy ratings.
At Egbo quarters in Uwheru, in the state’s Ughelli North Local Government Area, the incident took place.
