The oldest footballer in the world, Kazuyoshi Miura, continues his tenure with Oliveirense

The former Japanese striker moved to Oliveirense on loan from Yokohama in January and will remain there for an unspecified amount of time.

In just three substitute appearances this season, Miura has played just 28 minutes of football.

The same Japanese people own both Yokohama and Oliveirense.

After a brief cameo of 26 minutes in a 4-3 victory over Leixoes on the final day of the Portuguese season, Miura was chosen man of the match. The manager of the opposing team called the choice “offensive” and turned it into a “circus.”

Miura, who began his professional career in 1986 with Santos of Brazil, has been a member of Yokohama FC since 2005. However, in 2022, he spent 18 games on loan with the fourth-tier Suzuka Point Getters, a team led by his older brother Yasutoshi, scoring twice.

Additionally, he has played club football in Australia, Croatia, and Italy.

The legendary Japanese football player had 89 games and 55 goals throughout his 23-year international career.

He’s expressed interest in performing till he’s 60.
