The 20-year-old has worked with five trainers over the past two years since winning the US Open in 2021 at the age of 18.
The method has worked for Raducanu and her father Ian, according to IMG Senior Vice-President Max Eisenbud, who was speaking on The Tennis Podcast.
“That’s probably how her career will go on for the foreseeable future. That’s what makes them feel comfortable, he said.
“I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, but that’s how they did it, and I think it’s fine to do things differently,” she said.
After beginning her career with Nigel Sears, who quit shortly after she advanced to the Wimbledon fourth round in 2021, Raducanu was coached by Andrew Richardson when she made history at Flushing Meadows.
Despite being hired in November 2021, Torben Beltz resigned in April 2022. Dimitri Tursunov took his place and warned Raducanu about “red flags” and possible issues if he continued to listen to too many voices.
She cut ties with Sebastian Sachs last month.
Raducanu underwent surgery on both wrists and an ankle in May, and it is not anticipated that he will resume playing until later this year.
Eisenbud claimed that Raducanu had found success from her junior career by switching coaches.”Her dad and Emma control all the coaching stuff,” he declared.
“From the juniors on up, they never had coaches for an extended period of time, so for them, having a coach for four to five months before switching to someone else is calm seas.
“Emma and her father each have an own philosophy. Yuri Sharapova, the father of Maria, had his own philosophy, which was distinct from that of Richard Williams, the father of Venus and Serena.
“There may be eight, nine, or 10 excellent coaches in our sport, but there are not many of them.”The majority of the best coaches don’t want to travel for 35 or 40 weeks a year and leave their families, so there is a limited pool of people who are prepared to go and charge very little money, which causes them to keep being recycled. You see coaches moving around because of this.
Eisenbud recognized Raducanu might find it difficult to succeed Sachs.
Given their past performance, some coaches “might be afraid to take the shot,” he said.
“If Emma Raducanu’s biggest problem is that she is changing coaches every few months, I will sign up for that,” you said. “I understand it is uncomfortable and doesn’t fit in the box that everyone wants.”
