Elanga joined United when he was 12 years old and made his first team debut in 2021, making 55 appearances before Forest took over.
The 21-year-old leaves Old Trafford, with Forest rumored to have paid £15 million to United.
It’s a pleasure to be here, he remarked. Not just for me, but also for my family, it’s a proud time.
“It’s a big step, and I’m really excited to play in front of the Forest fans at the City Ground,” Elanga continued.
“I received interest from other places, but Nottingham Forest feels like the ideal home for me.
“I came over with United. Although this is a special spot, I believe that being here with Forest will make it much more so. I’m prepared to take on the challenge.
Elanga, who had been on United’s preseason tour of the United States, returned home to finalize the transfer and join defender Ola Aina as Forest’s second summer addition.
Despite interest from German teams and Everton, where Elanga was on the verge of coming on loan in January, he signs with Steve Cooper’s team.
Elanga scored four senior goals for United, but he only got seven starts last season while playing in 26 games and going scoreless.
“Anthony had a number of excellent options in front of him to choose from, so we are naturally delighted that out of those he has chosen to become a Nottingham Forest player,” said Forest’s chief football officer Ross Wilson.
