The price of single-phase and three-phase pre-paid power meters will increase, the federal government stated on Wednesday. The new tariffs will go into effect on September 6, 2023.The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission declared this in an order with the number NERC/2023/020 that was jointly signed by the commission’s Chairman, Sanusi Garba, and its Commissioner for Legal, Licensing, and Compliance, Dafe Akpeneye.
According to the order, the FG increased the price of a single-phase meter from N58,661.69k to N81,975.16k and the cost of a three-phase meter from N109,684.36k to N143,836.10k.
In addition to ensuring that their pricing structure provided for a feasible return on investment, it was noted that the price increase would assure MAP’s ability to recoup appropriate costs related with the acquisition and maintenance of meters.
