Genevieve Nnaji, a seasoned Nollywood actress turned filmmaker, has returned to social media after a lengthy absence to promote her new film “I Do Not Come To You By Chance.”
The same-titled 2009 novel by Adaobi Nwaubani was adapted for the screen by Ishaya Bako, who also directed the Road to Yesterday and the Royal Hibiscus Hotel.
Over the weekend, Genevieve’s most recent film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
On Sunday, the famous actress released several images from the premiere along with a comment that included the name of the film.
“I Do Not Come To You By Chance. #tiff23,” she wrote.
The 44-year-old is making his first appearance in public this year.
After it was claimed that Genevieve was suffering from a “mental illness,” she kept a low profile on social media for a while, which frightened her followers all over the world.
To allay fears and suspicions, the actress chose to ignore the news and posted images on her Instagram stories.
