A case involving an alleged fake policeman in Ekiti is postponed until October 3.

Isiaka Yinusa, 24, is accused of impersonating a member of the Nigeria Police Force, and his case has been postponed till October 3 by the Ekiti State Chief Magistrate Court in Ado Ekiti.

The defendant was granted bail by Magistrate Olatomiwa Daramola in the amount of N50,000 in the same quantity and was required to swear to an affidavit of means.

Inspector Elijah Adejare, the police prosecutor, charged the defendant with impersonating a police officer during the court proceedings on Wednesday.

The crimes are punished under Sections 90(b) and 181(1)(d) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021, according to Adejare.

On the following postponed date, the prosecutor informed the court that he would gather his witnesses.

The defendant claimed to understand the charge once it was read and explained to him, but he entered a not guilty plea.
