43 fresh thugs (Yan Daba) from the competing Goburawa-Gangare and Tudun Fulani Quarters in Kano State’s Ungogo LGA chose peace and turned themselves in to the state’s police command.
The 43 criminals boost the state’s total number of repentant criminals to 143. Elders who have important roles in the community were with the remorseful gangsters.
In a news release, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Command’s spokesman, revealed that these 43 thugs (Yan Daba) from the two competing factions had previously been involved in bloody rivalries for more than five years.
The Commissioner of Police also issued a warning to criminals to stay away from the State because he continues to offer a reward of N500,000.00 to anyone who comes forward with information that results in the capture of two infamous criminals, Abba Burakita of the Dorayi Quarters in Kano or Hantar Daba of the Kwanar Disu Quarters in Kano.
The police chief praised the state government for its ongoing support of community policing projects in the state but maintained that everyone in Kano State’s “security and safety” is his ultimate aim.
