Take-It-Back Movement Calls For Investigation Of Nigerian Policemen, Employer Who Extorted Cash From Woman In Lagos

The Take-It-Back Movement (TIB), a human rights and pro-democracy organization, has requested that the Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State command look into allegations of physical assault and extortion against Miss Ajakpovi Osamudiame Karis, a resident, by her employer, Mr. Idowu Lawrence Oluwabusayo, and by police officers assigned to the Ilasan Division.

According to reports, Karis accused many police officers assigned to the Ilasan Division, Lagos Island, the division’s DPO, and her boss, Mr. Oluwabusayo, of abusing her physically and demanding N10,000 from her.

According to Miss Karis, who claimed that the event occurred on Thursday, she was beaten, had injuries to her neck, and had her phone broken in the process.

Karis said that she was detained and accused of hacking Mr. Oluwabusayo’s Tik Tok account and extorting him by threatening to disclose his nude films and photos. She also claimed that she was forced to sign an undertaking.

The Take-It-Back Movement responded to the incident by condemning it and labeling it as “unprofessional conduct of the police, act of misconduct, illegal arrest, and extortion.”
According to Mr. Oluwabusayo and the police, Miss Karis was using the employer’s phone to send Mr. Oluwabusayo’s nude photos and intimate chats, which is why they both deny the accusation.
