The All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the two major political parties in the state, are reportedly experiencing friction among their followers and members.
Titus Uba, the PDP candidate, and the party has submitted a petition contesting Governor Hyacinth Alia of the APC’s victory in the March election. They requested that the tribunal annul the election on the grounds that the candidates had broken the electoral law and had allegedly provided the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with forged documents.
Within the opposition PDP camp, there is a prevailing belief that the tribunal will uphold their right to justice. While many of Governor Alia’s followers are convinced that the APC would receive a favorable ruling, supporters of Uba are happy and confident that their side will prevail in the case.
This publication has learned that numerous opposition PDP members have traveled to the state capital from different parts of the state.
