APC and LP promise to appeal as Fubara dedicates victory to God at the Rivers TribunalJPEG

Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, has said that the state governorship election petitions tribunal’s decision upholding his election marks the beginning of the affirmation of the confidence the Rivers people have shown in him.

The governor also thanked God and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, in his victory speech.

This was said by Fubara on Monday night at a brief thanksgiving ceremony at the Chapel of Everlasting Grace in Government House, Port Harcourt.

Some members of the State Executive Council and political figures attended the service, according to a statement made Tuesday morning by the governor’s media adviser, Boniface Onyedi.

Fubara reiterated his promise to live up to Rivers residents’ expectations while in office.

The governor urged the people of Rivers to have patience with his administration as it provides good governance that will improve their quality of life. He also asked for more support for the administration.

In the meantime, the state’s All Progressives Congress and Labour Party have promised to challenge the tribunal’s ruling. The APC candidate for governor in the race promised to analyze the decision with his legal team and take the appropriate action.
