Abass Akande, alias Obesere, a well-known fuji singer, has counseled musicians, particularly upcoming ones, to carefully evaluate the long-term ramifications of their contracts before signing anything.
‘Egungun be Careful’ singer Ilerioluwa Aloba remarked, ‘Young people need to consider about the future of the contract they sign.’ He was speaking in the wake of singer Mohbad’s passing. They should be aware that unless God decides to change things (for them), what they do now will determine how things turn out tomorrow. However, not everyone will be that fortunate. Therefore, even if they cannot afford an attorney, they must carefully review the terms of their contracts with someone who does. The most important thing for young artists to remember is to continually seek God’s will.
He urged the appropriate authorities to take all necessary steps to guarantee that the late Mohbad receives justice and said that everyone is watching them.
Obesere continued by saying that he regretted Mohbad’s increased notoriety and prominence following his passing. I feel horrible about it, he admitted. Up to his passing, I had never even met him. I might have heard one of his songs being played without realizing it was his. It is regrettable that his passing increased both his and his works’ notoriety. This story offers a wealth of lessons to be taken away.
