Adeniyi Ojo, a club owner in Kwara State, was killed, and the two suspects, Adama Joseph and Oreoluwa Davies, who were detained by the Nigerian Police, have described how they killed the socialite.
The women who were led by the police through Abuja on Wednesday night admitted to the crime and blamed the late socialite’s covetousness, stinginess, and carelessness for their actions.
“On October 6, 2023, police operatives apprehended the two suspects, Adama and Oreoluwa, who are both students at Kwara State Polytechnic for their involvement in the robbery and murder of Mr Adeniyi Ojo, the son of Chief Emmanuel Ojo, a prominent figure in Ilorin, Kwara State,” said the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
During the interrogation, Adama claimed that the victim had been requesting a sexual relationship with her for some time but she had declined since she had once worked for him and that after she quit, he had neglected to provide for her needs financially. Oreoluwa concurred with Adama’s account of the incident.
“Before the incident, we had completed our ND program at Kwara Polytechnic. We didn’t intend to murder him. We told him we wanted to conduct BDSM on that particular day because we planned to steal from him, and he agreed to have a threesome with me and my friend (Oreoluwa).
I attempted to choke his mouth after Oreoluwa had tied his hands and legs, but he resisted, so I gave up. So, when we couldn’t locate any cash in his pocket, my friend took his phone and held it up to his face in an attempt to unlock it using a facial lock. However, the man started yelling, loosened one of the ropes holding his hands, and began punching my guy. We gave him Refnol (Rohypnol) to swallow.
“So my friend covered his face with a pillow to try and stop him from talking, and when he stopped, we told him that we were leaving since we thought he was acting; however, he didn’t reply, so we left. I touched him with a cake-cutting knife that was dead, but he didn’t bleed since I didn’t plan to stab him or hurt him; we just wanted his money. Before the police in Ogun State detained us, we were unaware that he had passed away. Only his phone, the knife, and the ropes were brought with us.
