Three private security firms were closed on Wednesday by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps’ Federal Capital Territory Command for failing to register and renew their licenses.
Maco Security Services was sealed for failing to register with the agency as required by law, while Ochacho Security, Justigo Security, and Allied Services were sealed for failing to renew their licenses.
A few PGC guards were also detained by the command.
Any unrenewed license and unregistered PGCs are prohibited from operating their activities since doing so is against the law, illegal, and a threat to national security, according to FCT Commandant Olusola Odumosu of the NSCDC.
