On Tuesday night, the ruling All Progressives Congress claimed that Babachir Lawal, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, was biased when he said that Peter Obi, the candidate for the Labour Party, had won the 2023 presidential election.
The comment was a response to Babachir’s assertion that Obi received the plurality of the votes and Atiku finished second in the poll, according to statistics from independent sources.
He claimed that President Bola Tinubu finished far behind in the poll.
However, the ruling All Progressives (APC) revealed that the former SGF was clearly still nursing his wounds following the former Lagos governor’s decision to settle for Kashim Shettima when looking for a suitable vice president-elect in the run-up to the February election.
APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka issued a warning in a statement on Tuesday night in Abuja, noting that Babachir should have understood that speaking out on a case in front of a competent court of law is tantamount to contempt in addition to needing counseling.
Morka went on to say they laughed at the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation being able to come out of “hibernation slinging incoherent aspersions on the person of the President and the exalted office he occupies.”
The APC official added that the party believed Obi’s passing must have troubled him, which is why he was fixated on making what was allegedly sour remarks.
