This was revealed in a statement released on Thursday by British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer, Calum Laming.
He stated that DJ Cuppy, whose abilities had brought her to more than 30 nations worldwide, had selected her best songs for the airline’s in-flight entertainment system.
According to Luming, this was done to commemorate the start of British Airways’ new route from Accra to London Gatwick, which increased the number of flights operating between Africa and London.
This is on top of the airline’s daily flights to London Heathrow, he claims.
He claimed that before an aircraft even lands, a mix made by DJ Cuppy takes listeners to an exotic paradise.
Luming claims that passengers can also benefit from the airline’s WiFi connectivity for personal device streaming, with a variety of packages offering ‘browse and stream’ and messaging features.
He clarified that most of the airline’s aircraft were now connected and that WiFi was being gradually implemented throughout both its long-haul and short-haul fleet.
DJ Cuppy responded, “Music has the capacity to transport us to many locations around the world, just like British Airways, therefore I’m incredibly happy to partner with them on their first ever Afrobeats playlist, bringing feel-good feelings right to passengers’ seats.
“I’m pleased to add this exclusive mix to their extensive music collection and hope customers sit back, plug in their headphones and turn the volume up!”
