The concerning rise in open defecation on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has been bemoaned by pedestrians who walk along it.
Our reporter observed a variety of feces along the culverts on Thursday during an on-the-spot assessment. The odors emanating from the culverts were powerful and posed a risk to personal hygiene.
“It’s just too much; you have to be careful before crossing into the demarcation because you may step on faeces,” said a frustrated pedestrian. There are numerous of them here early in the morning, urinating in various locations. It’s merely grating.
