Actress Kate Henshaw of Nollywood has responded to the harsh criticism she faced for organizing a fundraiser for APC Governor Hope Uzodinma.
Many were taken aback by the movie star’s hosting role at the celebration, given she was a fervent advocate of the Labour celebration government and had harshly criticized the APC leadership.
On Thursday night in Owerri, Imo State, Kate Henshaw and comedian Okey Bakassi organized a fundraiser for APC governor Hope Uzodinma.
The governor, who is rerunning for governor, wanted to raise money with the fundraiser.
As the event’s videos circulated online, many harshly criticized her.
Speaking up, Kate disclosed that a close friend had called her when she woke up to tell her that she was trending on the internet.
In defense of herself, she said that she accepted her colleague’s invitation to host a fundraiser and didn’t understand why so many people were upset about it.
She claims that what sets her apart from other people is her unwavering commitment to speaking the truth as she perceives it.
