In Delta, police apprehend six robbers and seize ammunition

Six alleged armed robbers have been taken into custody in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, by the “Ember Months” Special Operation Team, which was recently established by Delta State Police Commissioner Wale Abass.

This was announced in state on Sunday by Bright Edafe, the command’s spokesman.

Edafe revealed that during the raid, some ammunition was found.

He continued by saying that the group has seen success in its efforts to combat crime and criminality, particularly in urban areas.

According to him, the tactical formations RRS, Raiders, CP-Decoy, Eagle net, Safer Highway, Safe Delta, Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cybercrime Squad, Crack Squad, CP monitoring, and CP X-squad, under the direction of their respective commanders, make up the Ember months special operations team.

“An investigation has begun, the suspect and his belongings are in custody, and efforts are being stepped up to locate other weapons and members of his gang.”

Likewise, while on stop and search duty near the Asaba-Benin expressway, sector ‘C’ of the ember month patrol stopped and searched a shuttle bus carrying two male passengers.

Edafe claims that two live cartridges and a locally manufactured cut-to-size gun were found on the passengers after a search.

According to Edafe, the suspects had four locally manufactured firearms and two handguns found on them.
