On her Instagram feed, she announced that she had won the charitable endeavor leadership prize at the Best of Africa Award ceremony. The award ceremony is dedicated to recognizing and honoring the accomplishments of those with African and Pan-African ancestry.
In her post, Cuppy proudly posed with her trophy while dressed in the Yoruba tribe’s traditional garb. She thanked the organization in her post for the prize and noted how proud she was to be African.
She remarked when she accepted her medal:
“This award means so much to me because I am being honoured by my own people. I DJ around the world and do a lot of philanthropy but there is something that happens when we get together as Africans. I really believe that when we unite we create more than anyone can handle and that’s what I strive for at Cuppy Foundation.”
