At the Hassan Usman Katsina International Airport in Kaduna, flight operations have resumed after being suspended for months due to security threats.
The airport was overrun by the more than 200 terrorists, making it impossible for an aircraft to take off.
Due to this event, passengers on the Lagos-Kaduna route were now required to land in Kano or Abuja and take the road to Kaduna.
But the flights to the route were resumed on Monday night with the arrival of Air Peace flight ERJ-145, which touched down at the airport at precisely 5:10 p.m.
Passengers were pleased at the development and had happy faces.
Speaking to reporters soon after the Air Peace Flight touched down, the airport manager, Adamu Sheikh, announced that other airlines will soon be starting up in the state.
According to Fatima Ndayako, the station manager of Air Peace in Kaduna, the airline decided to resume operations on the Kaduna route as a result of customers’ recurring requests for assistance while traveling through the area.
She reassured their throngs of patrons that the airline would continue to operate daily flights to and from Lagos and Kaduna.
It was discovered that following a meeting with airline officials in Abuja, State Governor Senator Uba Sani helped to arrange the restart of flying operations.
It was learned that among other people, the Governor met with Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation, and senior military officers.
