Barca ‘Prepared To Keep Dembele’ As No Takers Would Pay More Than €60m For Him

It looks like Ousmane Dembele will remain a Barcelona player for at least another season.

Due to the current uncertainties over finances and the Frenchman’s recent injury problems, no one is ready to match Barcelona’s asking price of 60 million euros.

Just before his latest injury, Dembele’s agent met with the Catalan club to discuss a possible departure this summer.

It was decided that his future at the Camp Nou would be determined by his form and fitness, but no one could’ve imagined the six-month lay-off he’d have to endure.

Nonetheless, the 22-year-old is still valued for his qualities as a player, such as his, dribbling, finishing and two-footedness.

However, Dembele’s injury record over the last three years, with seven muscle injuries in total, is enough to put any possible buyer off.

It’s a sizeable risk to spend big money on a player who isn’t guaranteed to be fit for the majority of the time.

On top of this, this summer’s transfer market is likely to be hugely affected by the coronavirus crisis, both financially and logistically.

Having spent 124 million euros on Dembele in 2017, the minimum amount Barcelona would be willing to accept would be 60 million euros now, but even that won’t attract much interest, if any at all.
