Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has spoken to Jordi Alba about his future at the Camp Nou Amis reports suggesting that the left-back is surplus to requirement at the club.
Koeman insisted that Alba is in his plan for the coming season but he wants him to step his performance and the manager is keen on seeing the “best version” of Alba, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The former Everton manager feels the 31-year-old can still be an important member of the Barcelona squad, provided he can recapture his best form at the Camp Nou.
The report in Sport claims the talks between Koeman and Alba. They claim Koeman has always been a big fan of Alba, while the left-back has no intention of leaving.
Alba recently signed a contract extension at the club last year with a buyout clause set at €500m. Alba is one of the several stars linked with a move away from the Camp Nou but the recent report claim that the former Valencia defender will remain at Barcelona for the coming season.
