Timipre Sylva, the All Progressives Congress’ candidate for governor of Bayelsa State, praised Seriake Dickson, a former governor of the state and senator for Bayelsa West, on Tuesday for building the road to the Ekeremor Local Government Area after more than 40 years of planning.
As he traveled to Ekeremor for his ongoing campaign, Sylva was applauded by the audience. He added that it was disgusting that the current governor, Douye Diri, was attempting to claim credit for the road that his predecessor had built.
In the polls conducted on November 11, Diri, the candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, chastised Sylva for allegedly having started construction on the road at Igeibiri in Southern Ijaw LGA before Dickson finished it.
Declaring that he (Diri) finished the road, the governor asserted that Sylva did not add sand to it throughout his five years as the state’s governor.
On the other hand, Sylva stated, “We appreciate that previous Governor Dickson completed this extremely important road. He has left a legacy that will speak for him for generations to come and inscribed his name in gold.
