Between 2017 and 2023, the Nigerian energy grid collapsed 47 times.

Many of the nation’s feeders are currently out of service, and several distribution companies have confirmed that the system collapsed in the early hours of Thursday.

The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) announced in a statement that a system failure happened at 6:41 this morning, resulting in a total interruption of supply across their network.

After the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) declared that the country’s electrical grid had attained uninterrupted stability for more than 400 straight days, the subsequent grid collapse occurred only a few weeks later.
