Yunusa Tanko, the spokesperson for the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, has bemoaned the Supreme Court’s indifference to the party’s repeated appeals.
The Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku Abubakar and the Liberal Party’s Peter Obi filed complaints challenging President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the presidential election on February 25. The cases were dismissed by the top court, which was convened in Abuja on Thursday.
Tanko responded to the ruling by saying, “As far as we are concerned, we have brought out our cases beyond reasonable doubt, but the court chose to look at the other side and turn a deaf ear to our plea.” Tanko spoke with our correspondent over the phone on Thursday. And they’ve made up their mind.
He maintained that the party’s request for Tinubu’s disqualification was motivated by their opinion that he was unfit to contest for office.
