Incoming reports indicate that Scottish Premier League Champions Celtic are eyeing a move for Nigerian and Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi,
According to the report by Daily Star, Celtic are eyeing a move for Awoniyi following the increased speculations that Odsonne Edouard will leave the club this summer.
Awoniyi has been at Liverpool since 2015 and he has spent the last five years away from Anfield.
In the just-concluded 2019/20 season, he was on loan at Mainz 05, scoring one goal in 12 Bundesliga matches.
Before the stint in Germany, Awoniyi has previously had loan spells with Gent and Royal Excel Mouscron in Belgium, and Dutch outfit NEC Nijmegen respectively.
The English newspaper believes Awoniyi would only be brought in if Edouard was to leave considering he’s only being looked at as a potential replacement.
