Violence has rocked many parts of Nigeria in the past few years and while many people’s attention has been on the Boko Haram insurgency in the north-east and the farmers and herders conflict in central Nigeria, hundreds of people have been killed in Zamfara State.
Last month, President Buhari said that more people have been killed in Zamfara this year than in Benue and Plateau states.
The cause of the conflict is not clear, but some people say that it is a conflict between cattle thieves and cattle herders.
Now some Nigerians are calling on President Buhari to declare a state of emergency in Zamfara in order to stop the fighting.
