According to a source, Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, reportedly withdrew his application to be a minister under President Bola Tinubu.
He not only resigned from his position as a minister, but he also suggested Jafaru Ibrahim Sani, who held the position of commissioner for three ministries in Kaduna State: local government, education, and environment.
After the Senate decided not to confirm El-Rufai and two other nominees, Stella Okotete of Delta State and Sani A Danladi of Taraba State, the report was released
Recall that the Senate confirmed 45 of the 48 Tinubu nominations under the presidency of Senator Godswill Akpabio.
El-Rufai, Okotete, and Danladi were reportedly not confirmed due to security checks, according to the legislative branch of the Red Chamber.
According to reports, El-Rufai gave Tinubu the assurance that he would keep making his individual contribution to national development.
In the report, it was stated that the former governor “needed time to focus on his doctorate programme at a university in The Netherlands” and that Sani would be “very useful and resourceful” in the administration. Sani also gave the President assurances to that effect.
