The financial support provided through Mr. Musk’s platform would have “no limits,” he said to users on Sunday.
He requested that users “let us know” if they have received unfair treatment for liking or publishing something.
Previously known as Twitter, the social networking site underwent a name change last month.
Before he took control, Mr. Musk, who calls himself a “free speech absolutist,” was outspoken in his criticism of the platform’s content moderation practices.
In April of last year, when he announced that he would take over Twitter, Elon Musk remarked that “free speech is the cornerstone of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where issues crucial to the future of humanity are debated.”
The company that runs Twitter recently disclosed that it was suing an anti-hate group whose research criticized the website.
According to studies by the Center for Countering Digital hatred (CCDH), hatred and misinformation were “spreading like wildfire on the platform under Musk’s ownership.”
X Corp charged CCDH with “unlawful acts” in order to “improperly gain access” to its data.
