The decision of the National and State House of Assembly Election Tribunal in Asaba, Delta State, has been annulled by the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Thursday.
The Labour Party candidate, Mr. Ngozi Okolie, was declared to be a validly elected representative by the court.
LP candidate Ngozi Okolie received 53,879 votes in total, defeating incumbent PDP minority leader Elumelu, who received 33,456 votes. Tony Nwaake received 11, 712 votes.
But in July, the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, which has its headquarters in Asaba, Delta State, certified PDP candidate Ndudi Elumelu the victor of the constituency’s 2023 House of Representatives election.
