For justice, a Nigerian shot by Togolese soldiers asks Tinubu for intervention

President Bola Tinubu has been contacted by two businessmen who were shot by Togolese marine forces 23 years ago and suffered serious injuries. They are pursuing justice.

On September 8, 2000, Taju Shoaga, a businessman from Nigeria, went to Port Autonome, Lomé, Togo, with his buddy and business partner, Segun Leopard, to buy cars that they would often sell back to Nigeria.

They were well-known to the Europeans, Togolese, and other nations involved in the vehicle industry at the port, so it wasn’t their first trip.

Shoaga claims that at approximately eight in the morning on that fateful day, their representative contacted to expedite the clearance of the recently purchased vehicle in order to prevent it from being vandalized by thieves who steal auto parts. While they were occupied with this, the soldiers on mufti suddenly attacked and gave them the order to lie down. They didn’t have long to accomplish this before they heard gunfire that shot through their legs.
