Former Chelsea attacker Diego Costa has reopened the feud between him and his former manager Antonio Conte whom he worked with during their spell at Chelsea.
Costa is of the view that the Italian manager wouldn’t have stayed long at Real Madrid if he had signed for the Los Blancos following the sack of Santiago Solari.
Costa worked with Conte for a season at Chelsea as the former netted 20 goals and provided seven assists to help the Blues to the Premier League title in the latter’s first season in England back in 2016/17.
However, Costa departed the Blues for Atletico Madrid at the end of that season following a falling out between player and manager.
Conte left Stamford Bridge 12 months after Costa and after a year away from football, he returned to the game to take charge of Inter at the start of 2019/20.
And when asked about Conte, 31-year-old Costa said in an interview with ESPN Brazil via AS: “We [Conte and I] had problems off the pitch, but I think he is a really good manager.
“I have no hard feelings towards Conte. But to be a top, top manager, he needs to change the human side of his management. He is very suspicious. At a like, say, Real Madrid, he would never last a season.”
Conte is currently managing Inter Milan while Costa has made a return to Atletico Madrid.
