Four years after the Nigerian man's murder in India, a wanted suspect was apprehended

One of the suspects in the four-year-old murder of a 35-year-old Nigerian man in Nalasopara, Mumbai, has been arrested by Indian police.

As revealed by a criminal branch officer on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, the accused, 28-year-old Kancha, was discovered living in the same town using a fictitious identity, according to the Times of India.

Kancha, also known as Roshan Bechain Mandal and Ashfaq Mohammad Sheikh, was apprehended. This brings the total number of people in custody for this crime to two; the other two are still at large.

On October 16, 2019, the body of Joseph, also known as Chindiniju Amechi Wilson, was found on a road in the Pragati Nagar neighborhood of Nalasopara. This was a tragic tragedy.

After this occurrence, other Nigerians in the neighborhood voiced their indignation, which led to parked cars being damaged and demands that the offenders be apprehended.

Nasir Khan was taken into custody by the police after they identified four guys as potential suspects in the crime during their investigation. An official from the Vasai crime branch (unit II) subsequently confirmed that a charge sheet had been filed against him in court.

Six months after the crime, Kancha, also known as Roshan Mandal, moved to Bengaluru and took on a new name, according to a tip that was sent to the police. His physical features were changed, and he was discovered living in Nalasopara under the name Ashfaq Sheikh.
