Timopre Sylva, the party’s governorship candidate for the November 11 elections in Bayelsa State, was declared ineligible by the Abuja High Court on Tuesday, but Abdulahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, said the party would continue proceed with its preparations.

After a private meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja with President Bola Tinubu, Ganduje spoke to reporters. Describing the judgment as unfortunate and democracy in action, he said the APC would ask the Appeal court to overturn it in the case brought by a party member who, in his opinion, lacked locus standi.
