On Saturday, more details on the Friday robbery that occurred in the Benue State town of Otukpo became public.
Some people had been killed by armed robbers who had attacked several banks in the town. On Saturday, information was received indicating that the deceased included Otukpo Divisional Police Officer John Adikwu as well as three female officers stationed at the station’s entrance.
According to reports, one of the banks’ employees also perished. The employee, known only as Uche, reportedly completed his National Youth Service Corps program earlier this year and obtained employment at the bank, which he returned to approximately a week ago.
It was reported that five individuals had been hurt and were being treated.
On Saturday, information surfaced that the armed robbers had arrived in force and had set up shop in groups of four at each bank.
