The Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, also known as Ocha Brigade, has detained 14 suspected criminals who are believed to have been terrorizing the commercial hub of Onitsha in Anambra State.
Suspects were detained on Thursday in Onitsha, according to Mr. Celestine Anere, managing director of Ocha Brigade, who talked with reporters on Friday.
He claims that some of the accused are drug cartels who terrorize and infiltrate trouble and all types of criminality within the Onitsha metropolis while dressing in army camouflage uniforms.
He claims that the suspects are using force to extort money from local residents and drivers.
He also revealed that several of the accused have admitted to robbing commuters and innocent locals of their belongings and phones.
Anere added that some had acknowledged dealing in heavy drugs and acquiring information for other criminal organizations.
Additionally, he urged people to contact the company’s customer support lines in case of emergency or general questions.
