Justice Binta Zubairu, a judge who was recently promoted to the Appeal Court, has bemoaned the scenario where judges are falsely accused of obstructing justice.
When speaking at a banquet held in her honor in Zaria, Kaduna State to mark her appointment to the Appeal Court bench, Justice Zubairu noted that everyone involved in the justice system—including prosecutors, attorneys, and others—must cooperate if the system is to be quick.
She claimed that since judges collaborate with others, they are not to be held accountable for the occasionally delayed administration of justice.
She claimed that occasionally the prosecution would not be prepared or the attorneys would make excuses despite the fact that the judges or magistrates would be willing and ready.
