Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee for president in the most recent presidential election, has urged Kogi State residents to support the party and Adejoh Okeme in the next governorship race.
During the official introduction of the party’s gubernatorial candidate Okeme for the state’s November 11, 2023 election, Obi, one of the party’s leaders, presented the speech in Lokoja on Thursday.
He asserts that Kogi state shouldn’t be impoverished because of the state’s huge potential and the fact that it is home to the massive steel company, the rivers Niger and Benue, as well as a variety of mineral resources.
In his speech, Julius Abure, the party’s national chairman, urged the people of the state to support the Labour Party as the best alternative to the other political parties in the state, including the APC, which is now in power.
He urged the electorates to take advantage of the chance, noting that the Labour Party candidate has the experience, the capability, and the education to lead the state to the promised land.
Adejoh Okeme, the party’s candidate from Kogi East, said in his speech that the moment has come for the citizens of Kogi state to take control of their fate by choosing a political party with a human face.
