A Nigerian lady broke down in tears after an ATM seized her card, only for her to discover that over ₦240,000 had been debited from her account just 20 minutes after leaving the bank.
The incident, which reportedly occurred at a bank in Festac, Lagos, was shared in a viral post on X (formerly Twitter).
According to a voice in the accompanying video, the woman had attempted to withdraw money when the machine retained her card.
She immediately went into the bank to report the issue and was advised to return the following Monday to retrieve her card.
However, less than 30 minutes after leaving, she received multiple debit alerts totaling over ₦240,000.
The viral post read: “A lady came to Festac to withdraw money, but the ATM seized her card. She was told to come back on Monday to retrieve it. Shockingly, not up to 30 minutes after she left, her account was debited multiple times.”
