I think it’s essential for our democracy because, if he or other hurt parties don’t dispute it, that would be like pushing the mud under the rug, which is bad for our democracy. Of course we will respect our laws if we set principles and follow them. The situation we are in now is altogether different. I particularly think that the appeal is not personal, as Atiku suggested. He has nothing against anyone, but let’s clear up the history so that the next generation can profit from it.
I actively participated in the voting, listened to the verdict, and witnessed the entire process. I don’t think that in this case, judgment should not offer opportunities for corrections in order for justice to be served. The idea that the Independent National Electoral Commission alone has the authority to determine election results, in my opinion, is flawed.
