Babatunde Afolayan, 42, was detained by members of the Lagos State Police Command on Monday after they discovered that he had reportedly defiled his daughter for three years.
According to information obtained by our correspondent, the boy’s defiler had been a resident of Lagos’ Ikorodu neighborhood since she was 10 years old.
The man ran into problems when the teachers of his daughter saw that she was acting strangely and reported it to the principal, who then turned her over to the school’s imam for counseling.
The 13-year-old girl revealed that her father had been defiling her for three years at one of their meetings with the Imam.
According to a school source who requested anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the situation, “The girl just started acting out in school and no teacher knew what to do.” The incident was brought to the attention of the school’s principal, who decided that she should seek counseling from the Imam.
The girl told the Imam that she had been having sex with her father since she was 10 years old during the counseling session.
She added that the father had slept with her the final time on October 2, 2023. She claimed that her father continued to encourage her to date. As if that weren’t enough.
According to reports, the girl was transferred to a hospital for assessment and treatment after the principal of the school filed a report about the incident at a local police station, which resulted in the man’s arrest.
