The residents of Kogi East Senatorial District, who turned out in large numbers in Anyigba yesterday to show their unwavering support for Usman Ododo, the APC’s candidate for governor, have pledged to fortify the state’s unity by voting in large numbers for the party on November 11 in the governorship contest.
The Igala natives, particularly the influential members of the Social Democratic Party, Peoples Democratic Party, and African Democratic Congress who openly defected to the ruling African Democratic Party at the Kogi East Senatorial District Rally, along with other distinguished Igala sons and daughters, claimed that the turnout was unlike any seen during Kogi East’s election history.
They declared that there was no such thing as an ethnic agenda in the dictionary of patriotic citizens, and they pledged to deliver massively for the APC in the election to open the door for the continuation of what they called the detribalized and purposeful leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello, which had brought unity and sincere development to all parts of the state.
The APC’s sole agenda, according to Minister of Steel Development and Director General of the Kogi APC Governorship Campaign Council Shaibu Abubakar Audu, is the Kogi Agenda. He also stated that the party’s nominee is running to expand and strengthen the great legacies left by Governor Yahaya Bello.
Speaking to the crowd, Kogi State Deputy Governor Edward Onoja advised Kogi East voters to cast their ballots based on continuity rather than sentiment, emphasizing that political parties, not tribes, religions, or geographic location, are what matter in elections.
Governor Yahaya Bello warned against ethnicity in his remarks, emphasizing that tribal politics were out of place in this day and age.
Speaking to the historically large assembly, Ododo, the APC’s candidate for governor, stated that the people, the state’s prosperity, and its togetherness were his priorities.
The APC candidate for governor expressed gratitude to Governor Bello for his extraordinary accomplishments and pledged to carry on his legacy.
In addition to advising the Igala people against engaging in ethnic and minority politics, he expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his exceptional leadership and dedication to the advancement of Kogi State and Nigeria in general.
