In a finish-line sprint, the Dutch rider defeated Marianne Vos, while Wiebes’ teammate Lotte Kopecky finished third to keep the yellow jersey of the race’s leader.
Wiebes won his third stage victory of the Tour with a victory on the 147 km circuit.
“I stayed with Lotte; the plan was that she would deliver me and exactly what she did,” the woman recalled.
Marianne may have begun her sprint on the right, but I was able to overtake her.
Lopecky now has a 55-second advantage over Liane Lippert in second place after increasing her overall lead by six seconds.
The race’s fourth stage, from Cahors to Rodez on Wednesday, is the longest of the eight stages at 177.1 kilometers.
