Nigeria’s steel industry is about to undergo a makeover by the Federal Government, which aims to boost the country’s economy, generate jobs, and accelerate industrialization.
During an official visit to Anambra State, Uba Maigari Ahmadu, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Steel, made this declaration.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo received a familiarization visit from the Minister at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia during the visit.
The Minister expressed his admiration for Governor Soludo, acknowledged Anambra as a hub of industrial growth in the nation, and offered the State government a hand of friendship.
Upon meeting the Minister, Governor Soludo expressed gratitude to the current administration for focusing on the crucial issues and expressed hope that they would implement measures to fully realize the nation’s enormous potential.
Earlier, the Minister was given a tour of the Metallurgical Training Institute, MTI, Onitsha. He lamented the crazed rush of young Nigerians for certificates and expressed hope that the state government would support increasing interest in skill acquisition and work with the institute to end poverty.
Declaring that the visit was the outcome of a well-planned agenda, he disclosed that it was the first facilities tour the Ministry was undertaking under his direction.
