A woman, Rukkaya Warda, has burnt the hand of her 5-year-old daughter, Godiya, over a missing N170 in Madagali, Adamawa State.
Punchng reports that neighbours reported the third degree burns sustained by Godiya, to the Community Response Network in the area led by the District Head of Duhu, Mohammed Sanusi. .
Sanusi later handed Rukkaya over to officers of the police after she confessed to setting the daughter’s hand on fire for her missing N170 which was later found with the girl. .
She was subsequently arraigned before Shuwa magistrate’s court. The court ordered that the mother be remanded in prison custody. .
Godiya has however been taken from the mother and is now in the custody of Adamawa State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
