Bakre, a two-time “Best Actor” winner at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA), revealed this while addressing at the Lagos premiere of “Slum King.”
In contrast to every other movie he had appeared in, he claimed that the production was stressful since he had to read through the Bible as his screenplay and shoot for two months straight.
The captivating tale of Edafe ‘Majemijesu’ Umukoro, who at the age of 11 saw the murder of his family by armed thieves, is told in the book Slum King. The criminals had broken into his family’s home because he had carelessly forgotten to lock the front door.
Apathetic Edafe becomes ambitious as a result of tragic occurrences, detesting his poor position and developing a hunger for power.
