Spandau Ballet introduced their new front man – West End musical star Ross William Wild – at a club show at London’s Subterania on Wednesday night.
Martin Kemp had met the 30-year old Aberdonian singer when he starred as Elvis Presley alongside bassist Martin Kemp in The Million Dollar Quartet in 2016.
“He gave me goosebumps every night he sang,” said Martin.
The band’s set list (below) included hits like Through the Barricades, Gold and True – all released before Ross was born.
“Having listened to it from a young age and then getting back into it recently, this stuff is still so valid,” said Ross.
Perhaps in reference to former singer Tony Hadley, 58 – who left under mysterious and possibly not the friendliest of circumstances – he added:
“Spandau Ballet isn’t about one person. It isn’t just about the boys that are there now. It’s not about me. It was a movement.”
