The recently appointed coach of the Nigeria national women’s team Randy Waldrum has begun working behind the scenes as he hopes to fulfill his mandate of taking the Super Falcons to the next level.
Waldrum who was hired as the replacement for Swede coach Thomas Dennerby that abruptly left his position after the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France has confirmed that he has held some virtual meetings with key Super Falcons players.
The American coach confirmed he had an interesting time interacting with some of the Falcons players like Asisat Oshoala, Onome Ebi, Osinachi Ohale, and Ini Umotong via social media and now he is looking forward to meeting them.
“Had a great time meeting the players a few weeks ago! Can’t wait to get started with them!” the coach was quoted as saying in the media.
The 64-year-old will work with former Falcons goalkeeper Ann Chiejine, who is the first Assistant Coach.
There were initial reports suggesting that the Super Falcons will camp in Brazil later this month as Falcons’ new coach Randy Waldrum looks to resumes duty with the record African champions.
